What is Counselling & Psychotherapy?


Counselling is a form of talking therapy that allows people to discuss their problems, worries and any difficult feelings they are experiencing in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Counselling (also known as therapy) can mean different things to different people, but generally, it is something people seek when they want to change a certain aspect of their life, need support, or because they want to explore and understand their thoughts and feelings more closely.


How many sessions will I need?

There really is no single answer to this as it will depend on what issues you are experiencing. During your first session you can discuss this with your counsellor or psychotherapist.



How confidential is the service?


Confidentiality is maintained within the ethical and practice guidelines of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).

Is Counselling covered by my medical card?


Private counselling and psychotherapy is not currently covered by medical cards. 



How much do sessions cost?


A counselling session lasts fifty minutes and the session fee for an individual is €60. For couples, the counselling session fee is €70.

How are sessions paid for?

Payment can be made in cash at the end of each session. Currently I am unable to take card payments.



How do I make an appointment?


Please call 087 6200664. If your call is not answered, it typically means I am with a client. Please leave your name and telephone number and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
